CHAPTER IV

AIDS TO WORSHIP

A. General

All worship services shall be conducted in full accordance with Scripture and the doctrines and government of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church as set forth in the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Larger and Shorter Catechisms, and the Constitution of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.

B. Church Music

Song books to be used in public worship by the congregations of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church are strongly recommended to be those which have been approved by the General Synod. It is strongly recommended that each congregation give a place, in its worship services, to the singing of the metrical versions of the Psalms.
Anthems and other special music shall be in keeping with the doctrines and government of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. The same rule shall apply to music used in weddings and funerals.
The pastor and session shall have oversight of all music used by the congregation.[Amendment No. 1 effective June 14, 1994]

C. Guides To Worship

Any Books of Worship may be used as guides to worship provided they do not conflict with the doctrine and government of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
